Hans Reiher

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Hans first worked for Fiji Gas on May 16 2000. He was the Engineering Services Coordinator. In his first stint with Fiji Gas Hans also filled the following positions: Suva Operations Manager, National Service & Installation Manager and National Operations Manager.

He left in November 2009 and moved to Australia to work with Fiji Gas’ Australian Partner Origin Energy. First in Tasmania and later in Brisbane as HSE Manager and Asia Pacific Operations Manager.

In 2015 He was in Vanuatu managing Origins response to cyclone Pam, when he was asked to return to Fiji Gas as the Acting Chief Executive Officer. In December he was confirmed in the role.

His wife and 3 sons were delighted to return home to Fiji.

Freeman Gock

Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Joined Fiji Gas after enjoying a business career in Australia, where he was working for Phillips Electronics in Sydney. He became the Chief Financial Officer in September 2002.

In his time at Fiji Gas the Company has doubled in size but it has not lost its family atmosphere. One of the things he enjoys most about coming to work is the camaraderie and the company focus on the wellbeing of the staff.

Freeman has 2 children, a boy and a girl.

Niteshwar Sami

HSEC Manager

Joined the company in March 2005. His career demonstrates Fiji Gas’ commitment to developing local talent within the company. His first role was as a cadet fitter at the Wailada Terminal. His many roles have included: Service & Installation Junior Technician, Full Technician in Suva and Labasa, Team Leader North and his current position of HSE Manager.

He is now based in the Head Office and reports directly to the CEO signifying the high priority placed on Safety.

Nitesh enjoys the challenges he faces every day in all the different jobs he has carried out in Fiji Gas.

He has one son in Class 2.

Samson Lal

National Sales & Marketing Manager

Is the National Sales and Marketing Manager at Fiji Gas. He joined the team in January 2013 as the Sales and Business Development Manager.

His focus is to continue to develop the Fiji Gas Brand, increase customer loyalty and develop the sales and marketing teams in the company. He was previously the Sales and Operations manager at Nestle. He has also worked with Coca Cola.

He has 1 daughter

George Inia

ICT Manager

George joined Fiji Gas in October 2008 as the ICT coordinator. He was tasked with planning the IT Systems of the company and bringing a number of standalone systems together in one network. In 2010 he was promoted to ICT Manager with an increased emphasis on strategy.

He moved to Fiji Gas from Coca Cola where he had spent 8 years as the Assistant IT Manager. He enjoys the responsibility he has at Fiji Gas and the ability to plan and implement new systems in a shorter timeframe.

Max Olsson

National Operations Manager

Max came to Fiji Gas in February 2010, having been General Manager and Director at Waste Corp and earlier still eight years with Carpenters Shipping. He is the National Operations Manager. He was based at the Terminal in Wailada and has now moved into the Head Office in 2015. This has given him a more strategic role and he has oversight of all the company operations in Fiji.

Max was a very successful rugby player including representing Fiji. He has 2 children a daughter who is at University in China and a son in Form 7 at Marist.

Amelia Vatukatakata

Human Resources Manager

Amelia was the HR officer at the TLTB before she joined Fiji Gas as their HR Manager. Her initial focus was to streamline the HR structure and records.

Now her department is concentrating on staff development, leadership programmes and increasing the strategic capabilities of the company. Much of the company training is handled online with the Origin Learning Management System.

The most fulfilling part of her job is to develop new skills with her colleagues.

Amelia has 2 boys and 1 girl.

Harvie Probert

Board Member & Chairman

First officially joined Fiji Gas as a trainee gas fitter in 1969, though as a child he had done many odd jobs in the company. He had a break from the company in 1970 and re-joined two years later as Sales Manager.

To gain experience of other gas operations he swapped jobs with Alwyn Ball who was branch manager of the Gas Supply franchise in Cairns.

In 1977 he became Operations Manager and on the retirement of his father he became general manager and Chief Executive Officer in 1983.

He left the CEO position in 2013 and was appointed as Chairman in 2015.

Harvie has one son and one daughter.
